Americanisms

Americanisms

Americanisms is an in-progress photographic series that observes the systems and rituals that shape everyday life. The body of work looks at how these systems reinforce one another, yet go unnoticed throughout our daily lives. What meaning lies beneath these seemingly banal moments when we slow down and truly take the time to look at them? Places we pass by each day, products we buy with devotional fervor, advertisements vying for our fleeting attention. The photographs form a visual index that defines a national identity built on excess, belief, and desire.
